House Share Cleaning Plan: Bathroom Bins Communal Carpets Kitchen Toilet
All cleaning materials can be found in the cupboard under the basin.
PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS EVERYONES RESPONSIBILITY TO WIPE/CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THIS MEANS YOU! The person on Bathroom “duty” should only be required to carry out the following duties:
Weekly: Wipe out basin and surrounding area Spray bath & surrounding tiles/window with bathroom cleaner, rinse (If you do this weekly it means that there is less scrubbing involved later on).
Fortnightly: All weekly duties Clean mirror Wipe down boiler top & shelf
Monthly: All weekly/fortnightly/ duties Wash bathmat & shower curtain Clean round taps when wiping the basin & bath (There is a toothbrush provided for this)
At end of duty period: All weekly/fortnightly/monthly duties Scrub bath & basin and all surrounding tiles/windows Sweep and wash floor Clean showerhead (Use toothbrush) Buy bathroom cleaner (If needed)
If for any reason you are unable to complete these duties during your duty period, please ask your housemates if they are willing to cover for you. This “cover” may have to be returned at some point. If you are unable to complete your duties before the end of your duty period, please either make arrangements with the person next in line to complete them shortly after the end of your duty period, OR make every effort to do as much as possible for the benefit person who is next in line.

Black, white & green bags can be found in the
cupboard under the drainer. PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS EVERYONES RESPONSIBILITY TO WIPE/CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THIS MEANS YOU!The person on Bin “duty” should only be required to carry out the following duties:
As required: Empty bin and put in new black bag Empty recycling and put in new bag Empty composting and put in new bag
Weekly: Empty bathroom bin Ensure that the CORRECT bags are put out for collection on the correct day (usually Wednesday) Ensure that recycling is put out for collection on the correct day (Usually every other Wednesday. Please check the schedule provided)
Fortnightly: All weekly duties Wipe down bin
If for any reason you are unable to complete these duties during your duty period, please ask your housemates if they are willing to cover for you. This “cover” may have to be returned at some point. If you are unable to complete your duties before the end of your duty period, please either make arrangements with the person next in line to complete them shortly after the end of your duty period, OR make every effort to do as much as possible for the benefit person who is next in line. |

Fortnightly: Take up all mats in hallway Vacuum hallway Replace mats & vacuum Vacuum stairs Vacuum landing outside bathroom & toilet Vacuum landing & stairs adjacent to banister
Monthly: All fortnightly duties
At end of duty period: All fortnightly/monthly duties Empty vacuum bag (if necessary) Remove hair etc. from turbo brush

Weekly: Wipe down dish drainer Wipe down cooker top Lift all items from work tops and wipe down well
Fortnightly: All weekly duties Clean sink & dish drainer with scourer Wipe out microwave Quickly mop kitchen floor
Monthly: All weekly/fortnightly/ duties Wipe down fridge/freezer & washing machine Wipe down kettle Wipe down toaster and empty out crumbs Mop floor completely
At end of duty period: All weekly/fortnightly/monthly duties Clean cooker & grill pan Buy Kitchen cleaner (If needed)

Toilet *

All cleaning materials can be found either side of the toilet
PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS EVERYONES RESPONSIBILITY TO WIPE/CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THIS MEANS YOU! The person on Toilet “duty” should only be required to carry out the following duties:
Weekly: Scrub toilet with toilet brush to remove stains in and around bowl Wipe rim of toilet & toilet seat (top & bottom) with cloth & toilet cleaner Ensure a full supply of toilet roll (should be a stock in the bathroom cupboard, under the basin. If not, ask someone to buy some!)
Fortnightly: All weekly duties Wipe down whole toilet - cistern & all Wipe window sill
Monthly: All weekly/fortnightly/ duties Wash floor & skirting board
At end of duty period: All weekly/fortnightly/monthly duties Buy toilet cleaner (If needed)
